Missing is the tenth episode of Season 1 of The Listener.


During dinner at Oz' parents' restaurant, Toby and Olivia learn that the family is in danger of losing the restaurant if they do not come up with $100,000 in two weeks, At first Toby tries to use his skills to win at poker without success. Through Olivia, Oz finds that a man is offering a reward of $100,000 dollars for finding his missing wife, who he has been convicted of murdering.


During dinner at Oz's parents' restaurant Toby and Olivia learn Oz is working there during his downtime to save the business from bankruptcy. Toby is initially reluctant, but Oz manages to convince him to use his telepathy to help solve a missing person case for a $100,000 reward to pay the debt. Detective Charlie Marks provides Toby with details from the case, which led to the murder conviction of the missing woman's husband, Arthur Stebbes (Stephen McHattie). Their investigation uncovers a triangle of romance, jealousy and betrayal connecting Arthur's wife, son and business partner.

    Olivia: Hello. Well, news is the ribs aren't broken. Just a little bruised. Right over here, though, right there.
    Toby: Yeah?
    Olivia: That explains the last year and a half.
    Toby: OK.
    Olivia: There's no heart!
